M Georgina Restaurant

A 4,500sf fine dining restaurant from Michelin star chef Melissa Perello located in the iconic Downtown Los Angeles The Row complex. As Chef Perello’s third restaurant and first in Los Angeles, the restaurant design was key in introducing Perello’s signature down to earth style that seamlessly blends with a refined dining experience to Southern California.

The design concept required a complete transformation of the empty concrete shell that would become an anchor for the shopping center and unique destination for LA patrons. This sophisticated design and all new infrastructure delivered the concept and the equally exquisite cuisine. A welcoming kitchen with open fire cooking was at the heart of the menu which in turn became a focal point, giving guests the sense of entering one’s home.

NCA Studio collaborated with the interior design team Studio Unltd to transform this industrial warehouse space into the Nordic inspired design. Principles of simplicity, functionality and comfort were combined with natural materials, elegant lighting and rustic accents to create a warm, welcoming and relaxed experience. The delicate balance of lighting, materials and layout creates an open, light filled spaciousness during the day, which is then transformed into a warm, welcoming fine dining experience in the evening.

The Nordic principles of simplicity, functionality and comfort were combined with the endearing personality of French farmhouse-inspired detailing. Sleek lines, natural materials, and enchanting lighting together with warm, rustic accents create an intimate, relaxed setting. Tonalities were selected for their transformative qualities from day to night. During the day, natural light provided by the old factory clerestory windows bring an open, spacious quality. In the evening, the mood transforms to intimate and cozy.
