DANNY BOY’S PIZZA – WESTWOOD
Westwood, CA
Client: Chef Daniel Holzman
Location: Westwood, Los Angeles, CA
Scope: 2,500 sf Pizzaria Restaurant
Role: Architect
Danny Boy's Famous Original Westwood builds upon the success of the original location, expanding the beloved pizzeria's neighborhood presence with a larger, more dynamic space. NCA Studio evolved the signature aesthetic—the iconic green, red, and white palette—while infusing greater energy and gathering opportunities that reflect Westwood's vibrant university-oriented character.

This 2,500-square-foot location embraces bold placemaking: larger-than-life neon pizza slices announce the restaurant's playful spirit, while a dedicated bar creates a new social hub for the community. An expanded retail area allows guests to take the Danny Boy's experience home, extending the sense of connection beyond the dining room.
The heart of the design remains rooted in transparency and craft. The open kitchen continues to showcase pizza-making as performance and art, reinforcing authenticity and inviting guests into the process. Yet this location introduces new dimensions—spaces specifically designed for different types of gathering, whether grabbing a quick slice, settling in at the bar with friends, or exploring retail offerings.
The Westwood location demonstrates NCA Studio's belief that architecture should respond to its context while maintaining core values. Here, nostalgia and contemporary energy coexist, creating a warm, welcoming environment where people naturally come together to celebrate the simple joy of exceptional pizza and genuine community connection.
