AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
We won!
Maydan Market, our collaboration with esteemed restauranteur Rose Previte, was recognized by IIDA’s Calibre Awards as the winner in the 2026 Hospitality & Retail category! We couldn’t be more proud of this phenomenal adaptive re-use project in the West Adams community, designed for internationally recognized chef-owner Rose Previte, with additional work provided by partners and colleagues at Preen Inc, ITX Construction, Engineered Solutions, and Paniagua Structural Engineers.
Rose envisioned the multi-ethnic food hall as a vibrant community gathering spot – a wish brought to life by this incredible design team, and attested to by none other than KCRW, who chose Maydan for their Summer Nights Season Member Kickoff event. We’re especially gratified to note that KCRW is also a former client – which just goes to remind me what a small world we share, full of talented and generous people who actively seek to improve our quality of life: whether its KCRW’s community celebrations, or Rose’s commitment to uplifting local chefs and small business owners, or the building and design professionals who pour their talents into creating stunning spaces for Angelenos to share. All of us at NCA are grateful for be part of this community.

PROJECT OPENING
After more than six years of development, Washington D.C. restaurateur Rose Previte’s ambitious Maydan Market has finally debuted. The 10,000-square-foot culinary compound opens in West Adams on Wednesday, October 1, on the corner of West Jefferson Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive.
Maydan Market was designed in collaboration with NCA and Preen. The original blue doors from Maydan’s D.C. location hang on one of the walls; Los Angeles artist Ernesto Yerena was commissioned to paint a Oaxacan-inspired mural on another. Blush colored walls bring warmth to the interior, contrasting with the more industrial cathedral-like ceiling. The live-fire hearth roars under a copper-colored hood, the flames reflecting off the brushed metal.
