Nicole Cannon AIA, IIDA, LEED GA
Founder & Principal Architect

Nicole Cannon is the founder of NCA Studio Inc., bringing over twenty years of expertise in design, construction, and management to her practice. Her architectural experience spans hospitality, commercial, education, retail, broadcast, and residential sectors. Nicole is passionate about enhancing quality of life through creative problem-solving and innovative design, from initial concept to final construction. She is dedicated to creating remarkable spaces with practical, sustainable, and imaginative solutions.

  • Before founding NCA Studio Inc in 2017, Nicole led award-winning, multi-million dollar projects at renowned firms such as Clive Wilkinson Architects, Marmol Radziner + Associates, Pugh + Scarpa, and Osborn Architects. She honed her expertise in single-family homes, offices, restaurants, broadcast facilities, and schools, contributing to numerous high-profile projects including KCRW Radio Station at Santa Monica College, Paperfish Restaurant in Beverly Hills for the Patina Group, Maguire Partners Headquarters in Santa Monica, and Fenton Primary (K-2) Center in Pacoima, CA, as well as several high-end residential projects. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Deeply embedded in the greater Los Angeles community, Nicole has explored how spaces can bring people together and improve quality of life. Her practice and professional associations reflect her passions for sustainable design and leadership. She is a licensed California architect and an active member of AIA, International Interior Design Association, NCARB, and the Association for Women in Architecture + Design. She is also a former chair of the AIA Committee on the Environment.

    Nicole has spoken on Sustainable Design at Highrise Networks and the Dwell on Design Conference, received numerous architectural awards, and been nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Women’s Leadership Award. Through her work, she continues to explore and advocate for sustainable, community-focused design that fosters connection and enhances everyday life.

    Project Designer

    Michael Zahn is an accomplished Project Designer at NCA Studio. With an extensive background on high-value and design-centric public projects, including the Annenberg Center for Performing Arts and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Michael brings a wealth of talent to our team. His discerning eye for design and intricate detailing adds a valuable dimension to NCA Studio’s projects. Michael’s creative mindset and thoughtful approach guides his work on all challenges, regardless of their scale. He plays a pivotal role in ensuring that NCA Studio consistently delivers work of the highest quality, characterized by precision and meticulous execution.

    Michael has over twelve years of professional experience and his journey extends beyond architectural firms, delving into collaborative art projects and construction endeavors, showcasing his multidisciplinary talent. Proficient in an array of design software and possessing hands-on expertise in diverse materials, Michael blends technical prowess with a visionary perspective, poised to redefine architectural landscapes with his imminent pursuit of licensure and unwavering commitment to excellence.

  • Georgina Grkikian
    Project Coordinator

    Georgina plays a critical role in consultant coordination and permit expediting, serving as a central liaison between clients, stakeholders, city agencies, consultants, and contractors. Her ability to streamline communication and foster collaboration across all parties is essential to ensuring efficient workflows and the successful, on-time delivery of each project. She brings expertise in design, documentation, and material exploration, with a range of experience from schematic drawings to city permitting. With a strong foundation in residential design and experience shaping interior spaces, she offers a nuanced understanding of how people interact with environments. Her expertise in furniture functionality, spatial layout, and materiality allows her to contribute meaningfully to the design of commercial projects—bringing a refined, user-focused perspective to every space. With an eye for detail and a strong collaborative spirit, she is dedicated to finding creative solutions that bring projects to life.

    Georgina is also deeply engaged in the creative community, having co-curated exhibitions that explore social impact through design, and is currently an active member of the Armenian American Museum, where she contributes to shaping the vision, planning, and programming for the museum’s future.

She brings a strong foundation in administrative systems and operational support, with experience spanning documentation, meeting preparation, and day-to-day studio coordination. Her familiarity with small, fast-paced teams allows her to anticipate needs, streamline tasks, and help maintain the structure required for effective project delivery. With a detail-oriented approach and a steady, solutions-driven mindset, she contributes to a well-organized and collaborative studio environment. Danielle is committed to supporting the team with clarity and reliability, helping the firm remain focused on producing thoughtful, high-quality work.
