M. GEORGINA RESTAURANT

Los Angeles, CA

Client: Vesta Restaurant Group, LLC
Location: Los Angeles, CA The ROW DTLA
Scope: 4,500 sf Restaurant
Role: Architect of Record

A 4,500-square-foot fine dining destination from Michelin-starred Chef Melissa Perello, Frances brings her signature warmth and approachability to The ROW DTLA. As her first Los Angeles restaurant (Chef Perello has three), the design was essential to establishing a sense of place that feels both refined and welcoming—introducing Southern California diners to Perello's down-to-earth hospitality.

  • NCA Studio transformed an empty concrete shell into an inviting space centered around gathering and connection. The open fire kitchen became the heart of the design, much like a home hearth, where guests witness the craft of cooking and feel the warmth that defines the dining experience. This focus on transparency and authenticity shapes the entire atmosphere.

Collaborating with the interior design team at Studio UNLTD, the design drew from Nordic design principles—simplicity, functionality, and comfort—layering in natural materials, elegant lighting, and rustic accents. The space breathes with the rhythm of the day: light-filled and open during afternoon hours, then transforming into an intimate, warmly lit setting for evening gatherings.

Every detail supports the experience of connection: the careful balance of materials, the thoughtful flow between spaces, the way light shapes mood and moment. Frances is architecture for placemaking—creating an anchor within The ROW DTLA where refined cuisine and genuine hospitality naturally converge.
